I work with schools to help them define, grow and leverage opportunities for change and organizational growth. As a designer, I employ a creative process that focuses on solution-finding while creating the conditions for innovative thought and practice. This work always begins by focusing on deeply understanding the needs of the group I am working with and establishing that as a foundation for a comprehensive design process. My work at David Jakes Designs is supported by a professional career that spans three decades and includes a background of 27 years of experience in education as teacher and administrator, 12 years of leadership in educational technology, 25 years of consulting and speaking, and four years of formal design experience. This enables to me to employ a unique lens to the work I engage in, providing clients with fresh and interesting insights and solutions for creating relevant and compelling opportunities for teaching and learning, professional learning, and organizational change and growth.
