Phases: The pilot process will contain six phases. Each is described below by the design activities associated with each:
Discovery Phase:
A pre-visitation preparation meeting (online) to discuss process, professional development, assessment and preparation for the pilot experience
An additional meeting to discuss Initial identification of manufacturers and vendors/distributors of furniture and finishes
A pre-visitation survey focused on establishing current reality and future-focus of both classrooms and libraries
Four days on-site
- (classroom and library visitations, full-day educator design charette, 1/2 day student design charette, 1/2 day visitation and discovery at York Elementary, and a leadership meeting)
- Development of spatial design drivers used to develop prototype spaces and inform the assessment program Discussion and beta design of messaging/storytelling program
